With the release of full version of Windows 8, MS also offfered a release of preview edition that allows enthusiasts to evaluate the new software before making the change in OS. Now Windows 8 final is out, the release preview edition has been pulled from Microsoft site.

They also said that if we had to try WIndows 8 before purchasing them, we ca have an easy go by trying the trial pack of Windows with full features enabled for 90 days starting form the day when you've installed the OS or upgraded them. To download them you just have to go to msdn.microsoft.com and then scroll down to the bottom of this page and then download a copy of trial version and have a look at them by installing them at your PC.

This version is provided by Microsoft for developers but consumers can also try them. Be cautioned cause once they expire after 90 days you cannot upgrade to Final version. You should therefore create a bootable Windows 8 DVD from the evaluation ISOs and either set them up in a dual-boot environment or setup a Virtual Machine.
